So following the game I joined my sister and some friends to view the "Oh, so long awaited movie...Twilight!" (I hope your sensing my sarcasm!!!) I won't begin to unleash my opinions and feelings about #1 the books and #2 this attempt on making a movie. But I will share the #1 thing that literally ruined the movie.

Yes, that's right...Edward's car! This is the car I pictured...this is the car that Stephenie Meyer had listed on her website as Edwards car! How could they create the movie using a hatchback Volvo???? Since when were hatchbacks cool? The moment the car scene of him slipping and sliding to save Bella in Port Angeles happened...I was ticked! It really made me so frustrated that they missed this major detail. A hatchback? Seriously...So with me venting my annoyance with this one missed detail I will stop, so those of you that haven't watched it will not notice all the other mistakes they missed.
As we were walking out of the movie theater the cute old lady asked, "So girls was it worth it? My response was..."Well, the tickets were free!" So that sums up how I felt.
Here's to prove that I was a reader...of books 1, 2 and 3...with 100 pages left of book 3 I stopped. I couldn't take it anymore! So yes, I must admit that I have not and will not read book 4. Sorry. I tried.
Yes, here is my sister standing in front of the actual real La Push beach on the Quileute Reservation. This was the best part of the movie, seeing the amazing views once again from the beach. It is spectacular! On my families girls trip last May 2008 we went to Seattle and my sister who is a Edward-Twilight-Stephenie Meyer- groupie if you will insisted we visit all the sites...Forks, Port Angeles, La Push, etc. It was a fun thing to say during the movie, "I've actually been there!"
I can't wait to hear what you all think about this post!!! :)

Deenie, I love your fun sense of humor--glad I could see the Washington sites with you. Remember the "fun" night prior to the trip????? Love, Mom
PS--You need to thank me for "pushing" it through-Ha, Ha!!
Mom and Di,
Good memories - that was one "fun" night which ended up giving me my favorite day of the trip - thanks Ang! Of course my feelings are similar if not more critical than Di's about the Twilight movie - what a let down I was totally looking forward to falling "in love" with Edward! Too bad thanks for the fun movie night.
Oh di-You know I love love books 1,2,and 3...hated 4....but I ....Hated the movie! I was really excited and really let down. You dont want to get me started on ALL of it....Anyway, if they made a Movie #2, I would probably see it-just to have a girls night out of the house. Ha HA. PS-you look so super skinny in the U picture!
thanks for the warning, i think i will save my money.
That is just blasphemy! The movie was great!!!!Edward is hot, hot, hot! and I saw it Twice! But did you expect anything different out of me?
Oh Di..I was expecting something like this from you!!! I really enjoyed the show. I thought it was great. How could you not like it? The story is awesome no matter how a director and screenwriter retells it. Loved MOST of the actors. Loved it, loved it, loved it! I will admit though, I went into the show telling myself...
I am going to see a movie that is loosely based on a book I once read
...and it worked. My expectations weren't too high and I just enjoyed it for what it was. Hope everyone else besides my two sisters did too!
Di- I went and saw the movie today and I liked it. I went in with really low expectations cause everyone has said it's not that great and I enjoyed it. I thought Bella was very well cast--I don't really like Edward though--I pictured him a lot more handsome. I also was super bugged that Edwards car was so wussy. Aren't the Cullens known for having the hottest cars in the world?! I would give the movie 2 stars--I on the other hand loved the books. I thought book 4 was sweet--the ending kind of dragged on, but I liked it. I thought book 2 was super boring. It was hard for me to get through. I liked who they cast as Jake though--he's a handsome guy. I can't complain about the movie--we also got free tickets.
what?!! hatchbacks not cool?? You drove a black Honda Civic hatchback a few years back yo! and my Subaru is the coooolest. hatchbacks not cool..ha!! just kidding.. this is Johnson and I absolutely loved the movie!! when they were just staring into each others eyes for like 10 minutes straight, i couldnt hold back the tears from flowing. and to think that the books are supposed to have even more corny little moments such as this one. i give it two enthusiastic thumbs up!! we're excited to see you guys in December and tell Jared to dust off his snowboard baby!!
Ohhhh Diana, I know you've seen my blog and know my thoughts on this movie and book. I actually re-read the series again after the movie. In four days!!!! Loved it, saw the movie twice, can't wait to spend money to see it again. So sad you didn't like it.
